Something about Image reconstruction principle

Hi,

This is not the problem using the CASToR. I am learning the principle of the PET reconstruction. While using the castor ,I found it has a complete reconstruction process , it is powerful and very convenient . Is there any file introducing the complete process of PET image reconstruction? I mean the file that I can start learning from the basic code and understand the meaning of reconstruction code .

Best ,
Gogi

Hi Gogi,

The paper presenting the philosophy behind castor can help you understand the different parts of the code and how it is organized and thought to be generic and compatible with different modality and data formats.

To have a good understanding of that, I think that general knowledge about PET reconstruction and tomography are required. Such knowledge can be found in many resources (books and papers). The first that comes to my mind is the following paper from Qi and Leahy 2006 that will also guide you through many references.
